My first game at the new stadium today...COYI
Dress Code

Levi 501,s
1960,s Retro Home shirt
Kathmandu Waterproof Jacket
RM Williams Boots
West Ham Beanie

Seat 60 quid and nice seat in row 43, seat 236 in the east stand almost opposite the director’s box on the other side of the stadium

It’s a bit of a fucking hike from Stratford station isn’t it, but then a quick shop and only 10 quid for a home shirt and another 8 quid for new beanie.

Is the stadium that bad though! After reading opinions on here I was actually pleasantly surprised that’s its not that bad, yes the running track is a pain but seriously is this as bad as some make out???? As to atmosphere, well were I was it was buzzing from start to finish, mind you that first half was sensational, even after Antonio went off injured, at that point I feared the worst but was happily proved very wrong, but credit to our fans they got right behind the team.

Well done West Ham fans, well done the players every one was immense today and well done Moyes, the future looks bright as hopefully the board have got the message.

Of course the stadiums not nearly as bad as some make out, but some people just love moaning, complaining & being negative. I'm glad the fans got behind the team today & may that continue for all the remaining home games!

I think if the team plays well the stadium and plastic surroundings become less of an issue.
Compared to what we had before in Upton Park the older fans and anyone who enjoyed walking to the ground down Green Street which I would imagine is everyone, will always feel short changed that is the simple facts.
I too think the stadium and view is good it will never be a football stadium though, but the atmosphere is not as together as it could be especially in games where the team needs support most it is for me pockets of atmosphere some get going some do not that needs improving.
Sydney you could be a lucky charm, can you make the next home game?

I don't think the stadium is bad. Flawed, but not bad as a stadium. I just think it's a shit place to watch West Ham and football in general.

The stadium isn’t as bad as all that in my opinion but it also isn’t anywhere near as good as it could be thanks to negligence on the part of the owners and a complete lack of desire to make it a proper place for football fans.

Out of interest, how easy/hard was it to get a ticket?

Anything was going to be a hard act to follow after UP. It was a tight, intimate ground and it had been home for 104 years. Odd though it was to walk past all the saree shops it was still comforting.

I've only been to the shithole once and I didn't think it was too bad. Watching a bloke in a linen suit shake hands with another bloke in a suit at the end of the 1-0 Bournemouth game said we had entered a new, corporate era.

Reading all the comments, the most relevant seem to be hat it's not bad when we play well and win. Maybe we need owners who are willing to invest.

I know my opinion will go against the popularly held view on WHO but I like the new stadium. I went to the old ground for 44 years but it was becoming more and more tired, parking was a pain and due to demographics the area was becoming more and more alien.

The walk from Stratford station is quite lengthy, I admit, but no more lengthy than when I parked my car at the old ground and had a 20-25 minute walk through the back streets and alleyways.

The atmosphere on a good day at the LS is quite good once we all get behind the team. At times at the Boleyn it was also awful. The stadium itself also isn’t the ‘concrete bowl’ that many make out. Go to the stadium tour at Bayern Munich, THAT is a soulless bowl and without any colour at all, it is all grey, or was when I went there about 5 years ago.

The LS is like Marmite, it is either liked or it isn’t.

Great result!

Did you not see the scaffold seats with the huge gaps between tiers and athletics seat and track below then?

"isn't the concrete bowl that many make out" - So what the fuck is it then if it's not a concrete bowl? It's the very epitome of a concrete bowl. What is your idea of a concrete bowl if our 'home' isn't.

The shit you read on here.

You're not quite all there, are you?

I thought the same about the Munich ground and on top of that it is on an industrial estate in the middle of nowhere.

Also I found that their old Olympic stadium had a lot more character about it albeit a bit weird and falling apart in places when I was there.

Pleased you saw a good win with a decent atmosphere Sidders. My son was there today and said much the same. We were there last week and it was a dire performance and atmosphere. Southampton were crap so that helped a lot. It's not a great view up the top but still better than Wembley. Bottom tier is best but not behind the goals imo as you can't see much at the other end. Would be great if it was flattened and rebuilt but unlikely for many years if ever.

Re: My first game at the new stadium today...COYI
The stadium is that shit, if you’d had sat in the same row behind either goal or in the west stand you wouldn’t have the same opinion.

Shirts are usually £55 too. The reason it is so shit so soon is due to lack of sales.

Lack of sales due to that fucking shit badge they lied about forcing on us.

Re: My first game at the new stadium today...COYI
I’ve sat at the back row top tier at Wembley and that has a better view than the OS equivalent.

Bullet 2:24 Sun Apr 1
Re: My first game at the new stadium today...COYI
Last game at Wembley for me was Blackpool 3/4's up the top, sat 3/4 at the top of the East and West and I thought Wembley was higher up and further away, maybe because it holds 90k, but it is subjective.

Bullet 2:39 Sun Apr 1
Re: My first game at the new stadium today...COYI
I would add that Wembley holds 50% more than capacity than the LS but the sight lines are not a great deal better and they should be. It's an abomination and desperately needs tearing down and starting again. Not convinced I'll live to see the day.
